クロナガゴミムシ亜属(Subgenus Eosteropus)はナガゴミムシ属(Genus Pterostichus)に属する中型のゴミムシで、

↑のようにどの種も互いに姿形が似ている上、図鑑もないので同定しにくい。
この記事では2020年までに記載されているクロナガゴミムシ亜属について簡潔に紹介する。
＜生息環境・採集法＞
平地では河川敷や湿地の周囲など湿度が高くある程度開けたような環境に多い。山地では渓流脇や湿度の保たれた森林内の林床に見られる(経験上山の中腹以上に多い印象がある)。
夜行性で活動期は夜間のルッキングやベイトトラップなどで得られる。平地・山地の種ともに朽木や土中で越冬するので、オサムシを狙った冬場の採集でもしばしば掘り出される。
